Personalise your questions

Our Water Savings Calculator should take no more than a few minutes to complete. On the first screen, you select those appliances you have in your home. This allows us to tailor the questions that are relevant to you - and only you. So for example, if you don't have a garden we won't ask you how often you water your plants. And if you're not on a water meter, we'll tell you whether you'd be better off with one.

Order your FREE products

When you've completed the questions, you'll be taken to a summary of your results displayed on a personalised, interactive dashboard where you'll be able to order the FREE water saving devices you've selected (if offered by your Water Company). Otherwise, we'll recommend various products relevant to your home, all at exclusive discounts.

See what you're using

You'll find out how much water and energy (used to heat water) your household uses, and how much money you spend on your utility bills, every year. We'll break this down into simple pie charts so that you can see where you use water around your home.

Find out how much you can save

You'll see how much water your household could save by fitting various water saving devices and by taking up a series of tips and advice relevant to the answers you provided in the Calculator. We'll even estimate what savings the devices and activity could make on your annual utility bills.

Compare your use with others

Finally, you'll be able to see how your household compares to others which have also completed the Calculator. We will illustrate the litres per person per day use (your household water use for the year divided by the number of people living in your home) so that you can see if you're an average water user, a better than average user or have room to improve. Don't worry, we won't share any personal information.

Don't forget to register

Remember to register and record your Calculator results, by providing your email address and a memorable password. This will allow you to return at any time to the same personalised dashboard and the same information. You'll be able to edit your answers to see how the improvements you're making are affecting your bills, plus you'll have access to exclusive offers, discounts and competitions.

It costs nothing to lower your water and energy bills

Even if you’re not on a water meter, you can still save on your energy bills by reducing your hot water use – up to 25% of your energy bill will be used to heat water.

And you can use the money you save to buy those things you and your family really enjoy, like a meal out, a trip to the cinema or those dancing lessons you’ve been meaning to take.

Our Water Savings Calculator determines your actual water usage. At the start, you get to personalise the questions to suit your home, so if you don’t have a car, we won’t ask you how often you clean it. On completion – it’ll take no more than 5 minutes – we’ll provide you with your own personalised water, energy and spend profile, a number of FREE water saving products that are easy to install (where you qualify and subject to participating Water Companies), and tell you what and how you could save by following a few simple tips.

Really good idea!! I had no idea how much money is wasted leaving a running tap when cleaning teeth or washing hair! I need to save every penny being a single mum with 2 children - thanks.

The shower timer means we're all concious of how long we take and the water reducing bag in the cistern has made a big difference.

Tips

  1. According to the Energy Saving Trust 2012, cutting just a minute off your shower time could save £15 in energy bills, and a further £15 in water bills if water is metered, per person, per year – or £120 saved a year for an average four-person household.
  2. Fix a dripping tap. A dripping tap can waste as much as 48 litres of water a day, or 17,500 litres of water a year.

  3. Install a water butt to your drainpipe and use the water collected to water your plants, clean your car and wash your windows.
