What will you do on World Water Day?22/03/2010

What will you do on World Water Day?

UN-Water has chosen "Clean Water for a Healthy World" as the theme for World Water Day 2010.  The overall goal of the World Water Day on 22nd March 2010 campaign is to raise the profile of water quality as well as water quantity.

The reality is that an estimated 1.1 billion people rely on unsafe drinking water sources. Water is a very precious resource that is often taken for granted.

The average person in England and Wales uses 150 litres of water every day.  Most of it is used for washing and toilet flushing. It is vital that everyone uses water wisely and efficiently and so World Water Day could be Save Water Day and be a good day to:

  • take a shorter shower
  • turn off the tap when brushing teeth
  • fix that dripping tap.

Even saving a drip and a drop here and there will make a difference.
