The way that the water pulsates causes some vibrations. However, i am getting used to that and if it saves me money i am happy. —Angela Moore
It does what it claims. 3 settings, which produce a satisfying shower with reduced water consumption —Philip Jones
Recommended by mira shower fitter, and have to say there is no compromise in the water flow, feels the same as the all power & water consuming head that we previously had. Can't say for sure on savings until bills turn up, but every little helps. —Betty Frazer
First class product. Soft but gentle flow of water and easy to clean.
We need to conserve water as its becoming a precious commodity and this is one useful item to help us do so.
—JOHN Lowe
Received one free from thames water. Very impressed by it bought another one. Excellent operation with subsequent saving on water. —Pete Webb
Noisey! Product as described & easily fitted to new thermostatic grohe mixer fed from vaillant combi boiler. However, far too much noise in normal operation and whilst flow reducer did quieten it down, still noise & poor flow. Disappointed. Will be asking for refund. —Ben Benson
Rubish! We thought we'd do our bit for the environment and save water but this shower head is useless. No where near enough water for a shower, took ages to rinse my hair and not enough spray to keep you warm so i was cold as well. Husband and sons hated it as well so we have gone back to our old shower head ! —Mel
Excellent product and looks good too,and i am doing my bit for conservation. —Malcolm Duff
Very good shower head. Well worth the money and pleased with the product overall. —Debbie French
Great product - works well - thank you thames water! —Sheila
Absolute rubbish. I bought this to replace an exact model all be it 8 years old, and expected it to be the same. Obviously the internals have been changed because this device pumps out so much air, the power of the water is completely diminished. I was very disappointed and sent it back as it was a complete waste of money. —Bill Jessop
Delivered on time. Product exactly as described. —Carolyn
Excellent product, well made and looks good quality. A bit noisey but nothing to be too concerned about. Delivery was very quick and well packed. Would recommend this product. —ANDY RICE
This produce works well and does save water. I rate it at 4 only because of the vibration. Our shower is tile on plasterboard on a hollow wood wall and the vibration caused by pulling in air makes quite a lot of noise. This may not be a problem if mounted on solid brick wall. —David
Very good product which reduces the amount of water used, even with a power shower, without any noticable loss of water power. —Mrs J Cragg
Very pleased with the shower head, much gentler than the one i had which came at the right time as my partner is ill and found our shower head too powerful, would recomend it and have to family and friends —Susan Smith
Excellant shower head gives you a refreshing shower and uses less water.
Great price.
—David
I bought this product after visiting the recent 'green exhibition' at clarence house and am very satisfied with it. The only downside is that in taking in air through the holes it tends to be rather noisy but not unbearably so. —John Yates
Our old shower was very powerful. This new head reduces the power a little but is still substantially better than adequate. If it is saving water at the same time then i have no complaints. —Matthew
I have one of them showers that come off the taps, mixer shower i think its called. Anyway moved into a house with a water meter so i have been forsed into saving money. I saw this product and thought it was worth a try. I have to say i was very surprised how good this is. The water pressure is still there (i thought it may effect it) and still seems like the same amount of water coming out of the shower head. It does make a little racket but i think thats where the air is being pushed through the head. Overall 10/10 just hope it actually says what it is meant to do and save water and more important, save me money ! —Rose
Once you get used to a reduced pressure its fine —Sue Taylor
The shower head has made a terrific improvement in the water flow whilst still saving water —Irene Latham
Was pleasantly surprised by the performance - whilst the flow is certainly less than our old shower head doesn't hinder performance or mean you haver to spend more time in the shower. Does make a bit more noise, too, but then its only a shower. One caveat - our water pressure is quite good. —MW
A very good system, it gave a good and refreshing feeling when you use it.

—Mr R.Brook
Showersave result went from an original 1" above the test bag line to 1/4" below the line, when i fitted the mira eco shower head the water level dropped to 1" below the line,1" in 5 seconds, what does that brilliant combination:- mira eco shower head and e.On shower save, save me over a year? Thank you gh. —Garry Hudson
Very fast delivery of this product which was pleasing. It was exactly what we ordered but not the same as the eco one we had before. It works well but is quite noisy compared with our previous shower head. No problems though and i am sure that it is more eco than the last one. —Shona Walker
Good quality product and gives a perfectly adequate shower. You do notice the difference in water volume on some settings on the shower head but it's easy to change to your preferred setting, would recommend this product. —J F Thompson
Have been using for a couple of weeks now and very pleased with my purchase. —Frank Wells
At first we did not think it was as good as a normal head as the output seams lower; however after a couple of uses you get used to the level of flow and it does have the advantage of saving a lot of water! —Andrew Gaskell
Tested mormal mira shower head (15.9l/min) mira eco (9.9l/min) eco camel (8.25l/min) oxigenics (8.1l/min) nordic (6.0l/min).
Mira eco was best all round it looks nice which is good for hotel rooms and has 3 sprey patterns, it sounds nice not to noisy, the eco cammel came second it uses less water is quiet but for a hotell room looked/felt a bit cheep would be great in a home or in eg a hostel when it may be an advantage to have less moving parts. The oxigenics shower is very noisy and has a very narrow sprey the water spits out fast in fine droplets but i would say it seems to cool the water which is counter productive, you have to dodge around to keep coverd! On the plus it is very nicley made. The nordick is a waste of time it is like a hosepipe spreyer and not enough water volume to wash the soap off you.
All in all i will buy a job lot of mira ecos. But eco camel to be fair was a very close second and used less water.
—Kerry Edwards
Excellent; i bought it to replace a newly-purchased competitor product which was useless. —P J Edison
Great product, slight loss in pressure when used with a pumped system but nothing major. Good buy and a lot cheaper than the usual retail price.
—Heidi Mitchell
We are very pleased with the mira eco. We do have lots of pressure in our property though (~3.0bar). Our old shower was 13l/min, but with the mira its now 6.8l/min, so nearly a 50% reduction in water usage. We dont feel like we have to stay in any longer to get the same shower as our old one. I like that it has three settings. They all feel slightly different. It does make a slight noise, but thats just it sucking in the air, and its really not at all bothersome. —Paul Clark
Quite good but guess what, not really as good as the blurb would have you believe. Plus when connected ours leaked and when i rang mira, the most unhelpful person there obviously thought i was some bimbo who didn't know what she was doing. Nul points, mira. I have bought some waxed thread to rectify the problem. The shower head itself is ok but we do miss the power that the shower used to deliver, so end up staying a bit longer in the shower, which may negate the saving to some extent. Even if the waxed thread works i will probably go back to the old shower head as it was just a better experience. —Anne Thomas
Terrific shower head thank you - even an improvement on old one with power shower hope it achieves the water saving —Paul Clarkson
Our standard midra power shower was using 16.6 litres/min consuming we estimate using just over 18 cu meteres of water per year. The eco shower head has cut this to just of 6 cu meters saving us over £52 per person per year in water and sewage charges! Its also eliminated or steaming up issue in the bathroom. And the shower is almost as good! —Roger Stobbart
Easy, no fuss installation in 30 seconds. 3 spray patterns are powerful, with consistent flow, and are easily adjustable during use. In operation, there is no vibration, however the product is more noisy than the standard head, it replaces, but the noise level is still acceptable. This product delivers a great saving of water, over a standard head, and i will continue to use it. —Alan Rush
You do notice the drop in pressure. You probably do stay in the shower a bit longer to make sure you're properly rinsed. —Mark Preston
Unfortunatley, whilst we could fit the attachment to the water pipe, it would not fit into the wall attachment and so we were unable to use it for showers. Which was a shame, as it appears it would have been better than our current shower head. There is no option to say that we did not fairly trail the product, so we have just given average scores. —Claire Askew
Easy to fit, simple to use high quality shower head. With three
Adjustments you can get the water just how you want it be. Invigorating
Shower, would recommend.
—Mark Stanley
The shower head was straightforward to fit-does not require any specialist knowledge.
Once fitted, it gives a pleasant spray. It is not powerful, but this is a small price to pay for a water saving device. The compression valve is very effective, although it does cause the water passing through it to make a slight noise. Again, a small price to pay for conservation.
Sadly it will not work with an electric shower.
I am glad that i took part in this trial.
—Shaun Maguire
I couldn't believe just how good this product is, apart from the fact it is saving water it gave taking a shower a whole new meaning, its just fab. Have told all my friends and family about this and it is selling for a really good price. —June Broxup
We have been using for over a week now and to be honest its not much different from our original head. Our shower is not pump operated so its not a powerful power shower and i wonder if this makes a difference to the performance of the eco showerhead. Hopefully it will save some water but does not give us and "exhilerating experience" as suggested. —Sarah Mcgurn
Excellent shower head,3 easy to use settings.Slightly louder than an ordinary head, but you soon get used to it.Very good looks and design, great feeling of getting wet without using as much water, tempted to stay in longer to enjoy the feeling , but i guess that would defeat thobject of having one! —Chris Collins
I tested the mira showerhead for 1 week as suggested and found that it did in fact live up to expectations. The showerhead gives you a power shower without using the energy, and when i tested to see if the mira used less water than my old model found that it did. Would i recommend the mira definitely! —Diahann Lowery
Very easy to install and use; the different spray settings are simple to select. With it being more water efficient i thought i'd notice a difference in the power but i was wrong, although my husband does think it's slightly weaker than our previous shower head. —Sarah Wood
If you have an old shower this would save you a lot of water, but with our modern shower it still saves 2-3 litres per minute. Still feels like a high quality powerful shower. —John Gillett
Smart, neat handle and head. Easy to fit. Simple to adjust nozzles for individual use. Just wipe down with a soft cloth after use. A pleasing replacement for our existing model. —Sue Auckland
I have found this showerhead excellent, we have a power shower and i haven't noticed any loss of flow and it is nice to know that we are saving water too. —Mrs A Hawkins
I found this product to be excellent!
I have a 'traditional' hot water system with a hot water tank, and 'reasonable' pressure to the shower head. The eco shower head was a straight swap for my old mira shower head & it works perfectly, and is saving me a fortune !
—W.A.B
Good product —Paulo Lewandowski
Frequently Asked Questions
If you have any questions about this product, please let us know and we'll do our best to answer.
The Mira Eco Showerhead can be used in conjunction with power showers and mixer showers. If your shower is not listed below please contact us with the make and type of your shower and we'll let you know.
POWER SHOWERS
The Mira Eco Showerhead is SUITABLE for Power Showers including but not limited to;
Mira Event, Mira Event XS, Mira Excel, Mira Extreme, Mira Vigour, Trevi CTV, Triton Aqua Sensation, Triton AS 2000 XT.
MIXER SHOWERS
The Mira Eco Showerhead is SUITABLE for Mixer Showers ONLY if your shower is fed with a minimum maintained water pressure of 0.5 bar (see "Will a Mira Eco showerhead work with my water system?" below)
The Mira Eco Shower head can be used with mixer showers, but the mixer shower must be fed with a minimum maintained water pressure of 0.5 bar (see "Will a Mira Eco showerhead work with my water system?" below). If not, the Mira Eco Showerhead will fail to aerate the delivered water.
Including but not limited to these showers;
Mira Select, Mira 415, Trevi CTV.
Mixer Showers fed from a Combination Boiler - SUITABLE IF THE COMBI BOILER IS MODERN AND ACTIVATED AT A LOW FLOW RATE
Not suitable for early models of combi-boilers for the following reason:
Combination boilers have a minimum output flow rate required in order for the boiler to remain ignited. If the output flow is restricted and the minimum requirement not achieved, the boiler will shut down it's integral gas valve via the "high limit thermostat". Once the heated water has passed through the boiler, the high limit thermostat will reset, allowing the gas valve to open and the boiler to reignite. However, the period of time between the gas valve being closed and allowed to open again means a "cool shot" of water is present in the system as the boiler has been inactive. Subsequently, the water discharged from the showerhead cycles hot/cold continually.
ELECTRIC SHOWERS - NOT SUITABLE
The Mira Eco Shower head should not be used in conjunction with an electric shower. To do so will impact upon the electric shower's ability to heat the cold water with which it is fed, and will result in the failure of the shower's internal components.
Mira Sport, Mira Vie, Mira Mini Duo & Eco, Mira Essentials 8.6kW, Mira Elite ST, Mira Orbis, Mira Advance, Mira Escape, Mira Thermostatic, Mira Orbis, Triton T200RE, Aqualisa Quartz.

How does the Mira Eco showerhead work?
The Mira Eco showerhead works by using EcofficientTM technology, which is based on the Venturi principle.
The Venturi creates pressure which speeds up the water and forces air to be sucked in from the spray plate. Air is then mixed with water to create larger droplets filled with air bubbles (just like agricultural crop sprayers). The droplets explode on impact and produce similar coverage to conventional sprays.
The result is that the user feels more water on the body but uses less.
Does the Mira Eco showerhead have WRAS approval?
